Our girls go from complete beginners to designing and sewing their own skirts in just 5 weeks!!
Our kids classes are designed to simplify our specialized sewing curriculum to make it even easier for children to learn complex sewing techniques. Class sizes are limited for greater opportunity for one-on-one instruction.
NO PRIOR SEWING EXPERIERECE REQUIRED!
This class can be taken as many times as desired, each session the student will created increasingly complex projects allowing them to meet their individual goals.
All necessary machinery, hand tools, materials, and course books are provided. This group takes planned snack breaks please send your child with water and snack as we do not have any food or drinks available in studio.
Each week they will progressively work towards finishing their project, excessive tardiness and/or absences will result in the student being unable to complete their project.
5 Week: Kids Sewing Course
Each class is limited to 4 students, so that the teacher has the opportunity to give each student the one-on-one program structure that they need to be able to meet their sewing goals. Its perfect for students of all sewing levels: complete beginners who have never worked with a sewing machine, to those who are wanting to learn how to make pillows and tote bags and even those are ready to begin making garments or varying styles and complexities.
Students will:
Learn components of the sewing machine
Learn how to load bobbin & thread the sewing machine
Learn how to balance the thread tension
Gain control over the sewing speed and pace
Practice different stitches and seam finishes
Learn about backstitching and pivoting
Learn how to make straight tapered darts and inseam pockets
Learn how to measure and mark seam allowances
What’s included:
IN STUDIO: The price includes the use of sewing machines, hand tools, steam irons, large scale craft paper, workbook and custom designed/fitted sewing patterns ($50 value) and fabric. Students are welcome to bring their own sewing machine if desired.
