Mini Dress Form Sewing
This is the perfect class for those seeking to add a bit of whimsy and creative expression to their weekend. Our Mini Dress Form Sewing Class is designed for students who have always wanted to try sewing but don’t have the time to commit to a full 4 - 6 week program. It’s a perfect hanging out with the girls or Mommy & Me activity so grab friend and lets get sewing!
Course Details
PREREQUISITE: absolutely no sewing experience required!
WHAT’S INCLUDED: We provide everything you need (including the stuffing and fabric) except for the base that is used for the mannequin stand. The price includes the use of sewing machines, hand tools, steam irons, craft paper and workbook.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: Please bring an Inflatable Desktop Punching Bag (available at 5 below) to use for the base of the mannequin. Also bring a water bottle and ink pin. Students are welcome to bring their own sewing machine.
DURATION: This is a 3.5 hour session.
LOCATION: 4917 Schaefer Rd, Suit 200 Dearborn, MI 48126 - Entrance and parking in the rear.
COST: 1 Student for $85 or 2 Students for $140 (Saves $30)
Course Objectives and Schedule
Lets get sewing girl! Consider this a pre-intro class. It doesn’t cover an in depth explanation of the machine components, however you will learn how to thread and use the sewing machine.
Students will:
Learn how to thread the machine and test for correct tension
Cut and Sew Mannequin Form
Sew on patches and embellishments
Add the stuffing and attach base
Add beads, stones and final touches
More advanced students can use any extra time to sew a skirt for their mini dress form.
